Below is a selection of pruning and reduction jobs completed for households and site managers around Birmingham. Each record lists the work carried out, the tools used and the reason the client called us in. Records are drawn from our internal job log, which currently holds 1,625 completed jobs since the company started in 2021.
A 40-year-old oak had grown over a neighbouring roofline. We reduced the crown by around 2 metres on the affected side, removed two crossing limbs, and thinned the canopy to let more light reach the lawn below.
A leylandii hedge running along a driveway had become uneven, with some sections over 3 metres tall. We brought the whole run down to a uniform 2.2 metres and squared off the sides using line and level guides.
Three older fruit trees had not been pruned in several seasons and were producing small, crowded fruit. We opened up the centre of each tree, removed dead wood, and cut back last year's growth to encourage stronger fruiting spurs.
A winter storm had split a large limb from a silver birch, leaving it hanging over a parked car. We removed the hanging section, cleaned the wound edge, and cut back an adjacent weak fork to prevent a repeat failure.
A mixed border of box and viburnum shrubs had lost its shape after two seasons of light growth. We cut each shrub back to a rounded form, removed dead stems from the centre, and cleared cuttings from the bed.
Yes. Every job is logged with the date, the work carried out and the tools used. If you would like to see examples of work near your street specifically, mention this when you contact us and we can check our records for the area.
A single garden shrub tidy usually takes half a day. Crown reduction on a mature tree, such as the oak project above, can take a full day depending on access and the amount of wood to remove and clear.
On all five projects shown here, cuttings and offcuts were bagged or chipped on site and taken away. This is included as standard in the price quoted for the job, not charged separately unless otherwise agreed in advance.
We can work from a description or a photo of a similar result. For hedge shaping and formal shrub work, we use line and level tools to keep the finished shape consistent with what you have in mind.
These five are representative examples drawn from work carried out over the past few seasons, not a single week. They were chosen to show the range of jobs we handle, from routine hedge maintenance to storm damage response.
Send us a few details and photos if you have them. We typically reply within 4 hours during business hours.
